Having skin cancer means learning about safe sun protection the hard way. I wish I had done some things differently in my younger years, but here we are. One thing that really helps protect us from the sun is wearing a hat. My amazing dermatologist at Yale, Dr. David Leffell, advises wearing a wide brim hat.
Here are a few of my favorites hats that I will be wearing on repeat all summer long.

Hat Attack
This is a great family business that I love supporting. Hat Attack is based in my home state of Connecticut, they are in Stamford, CT.

Mott50
These UPF50+ hats are a fashionable way to keep your face protected from the sun. I’m a big fan of their hats as well as their chic + fashionable sun-protective clothing.

Purpose to Purchase
These straw hats are all handmade and one of a kind. My good friend, Ali Dorfman, runs this small business that gives back to a variety of charities through her business.
Here’s to a great summer being smart in the sun!
Hats off to summer 2021,
xoxo Nina
