Happy New Year, everyone! I hope your 2019 is off to a great and positive start. One observation I have made is that there’s a lot of pressure in January to get everything going and get everything on track. And that, frankly, can overwhelm me. So I think February might be the new January for me, just sayin’! 🙂 I do hope you listened to my intentions, my goals and my vision for the new year on my “Nina’s Got Good News” podcast #26. Hopefully, it helps you think about your own journey and what lies ahead for you too.
I want to share two things with you that I am doing that
First up is ACUPUNCTURE. I started this practice in late November with a doctor who came highly recommended by some good friends. My goal was simple: to alleviate my sinus issues that I have every winter. Every winter, I get a cold, and most times, that cold actually turns into a painful sinus infection. From there, I end up on antibiotics serval times throughout the winter trying to treat the sinus infections. Being on antibiotics that often is not something I feel good about anymore. I decided to try something new with ACUPUNCTURE treatments. I went to see Dr. Brian Henninger in Fairfield, Connecticut. If you are local, I highly recommend him. The first time we met, he spent almost an hour with me talking all about my health and the goals I wanted to reach from seeing him. He told me the best way to treat my sinuses would be to come in every single week for acupuncture and to be consistent about this. Consistency is key!
Acupuncture can be used for so many different issues, and I have had many friends see a lot of success with it. I have been going every single week since we started, and I am having good results so far. Many people ask if it’s painful, and the answer is no. Dr. Henninger treats a variety of areas on my body, and I lay still for 20 minutes and sometimes I even nap. Amen to that!
Second is CBD oil. I am sure you guys have noticed that CBD is all the rage, and there is CBD everything these days. The reasons I decided to use CBD oil is for sleeping and for stress. In a previous post, I shared that I have taken anti-depressant medications in the past. Getting off those drugs was a challenge for me. Being able to take CBD oil (which is safe) has been a big help. Keep in mind that CBD, unlike the THC in cannabis, does NOT get you high! There are so many brands out there, and it is important to do your research on good, high-quality CBD brands. I am learning about new brands all the time, but I wanted to share a couple that I am using. I really like LORD JONES body lotion with CBD and their old-fashioned CBD gumdrops. Another good brand is VITALIBIS. I bought the Vitalibis Wellness Duo, an oil and capsule combo, which I use daily.
The billion-dollar CBD industry is exploding, and if you look closely, you will see CBD appearing in cocktails, at coffee shops, restaurants, and in spa treatments. If you live in Fairfield County, Connecticut, my friends at Inner Light Wellness in Darien carries a good range of quality CBD products in their shop. (Did you listen to the founder of Inner Light on my recent podcast #24?). I am fully embracing this wellness trend, so please share your CBD recommendations with me as well.
Here’s to good days ahead for all of us in 2019.
xoxo NBC
