As 2020 winds down, I’m sure we are all having lots of feelings about this past year. I won’t sugar coat it — I’m looking forward to putting this year behind us. From sickness and isolation to social division and economic hardships, this year has been heavy. I’m really looking forward to 2021 when life and work will slowly return to normal for our country. But it’s also good to reflect back on this year with a few positive moments and a few important lessons learned.
I’m thankful we’ve had so much TIME together as a family. I know I will look back at this year someday and realize how precious it really has been. I’m counting my blessings.
Being able to slow down as a family and have the time to do things together is what I hope can continue into the years ahead (even if it was at home!). Believe it or not, watching every single episode of “The Office” and every single episode of “Schitt’s Creek” with Blaine has been a highlight. The same goes for discovering that Charlie likes “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” as much as I do. Watching our kids love our pandemic puppy, and the joy that Coco Clarke has brought into our house has also been such a win.
But having my husband not travel for work has been the greatest gift of all in 2020. Having Jeff around more has been such an enormous blessing for me and for our kids. One lesson we all learned in 2020 was that surrounding yourself with the right people who lift you up, support you, and bring you good energy is also more important than ever before. I hope you’ll join me and take a couple of minutes as 2020 comes to an end to reflect on a few positive moments as well. Gratitude is everything!
Thank you all for being in this community. It means so much. Here’s to better days ahead and more good news ahead. I honestly can not wait to see what’s in store for all of us in 2021!
Happy Holidays,
xoxo Nina
